Check Out These German-Related Events in Atlanta!

The week of October 1-5 features a series of German-related events you don’t want to miss!

On Monday, October 1, Georgia State University will kick off the week with the screening of two films related to Afro-German topics, namely Pepe Danquart’s Schwarzfahrer (4:30pm) and Dagmar Schultze’s Audre Lorde: The Berlin Years (5:00pm), (screened at Atlanta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau at Atlanta Underground.)

On Tuesday, October 2, German-Russian author Wladimir Kaminer will read from his most recent texts at Emory University (7:30pm in the Oxford Building; click here for more info. Event is free and open to the public! Reading will be in German.)

On Wednesday, October 3, from 1:30-3:00pm, German member of parliament Harald Leibrecht (you know him if you were on the ASC in Germany trip!) will speak about the US-German Transatlantic Relationship at Georgia State University. Attendance is free, but you must reserve seats. Talk will be in English!)

On Friday, October 5, at 5:30pm, the Midtown Art Cinema will also show Dagmar Schultze’s film Audre Lorde: The Berlin Years. So if you didn’t catch it the first time around, this is your chance to see it!
